Australia Wins the Second One-Day International Against India by 84 Runs…
The match played at Kochin gave lots of moments to the Australian players to be delighted about. Australia rightly leads the series by 1-0 and it could have been added upto two wins had the match been played on Saturday. The 84 run victory was achieved even during the absence of Ricky Ponting and it was Mahendra Singh Dhoni who won the toss and put the Aussies to bat keeping the wet condition in mind. But it was the opposite that happened when the pitch and the outfield was dried out.
It seems as if everything was working just perfectly for the guests as they successfully amassed the total of 306 runs and further more they were just about perfect with the ball grabbing all the ten Indian wickets. Dhoni’s decision seemed to be working when India smacked the first two wickets easily and thereafter it started draining down. Hats off to the magnificent innings by Brad Haddin with an unbeaten 87. However, Adam Gilchrist and Brad Hodge could not put up good scores on the chart. India seemed to be already over confident with these two wickets not realizing how quickly Australia managed to put up a score of more than 300 runs.
On the other hand, the Indian team could accumulate some quick wickets but when it came to the bat they couldn’t keep the strike rotating and the wickets fell pretty easily. It were the Australians who stole the show today and proved of what they were actually made of….
