India vs England First ODI

By Cricket ~ August 20th, 2007. Filed under: England, India, ODI, cricket.

The best ever two-sided one-day series ever to go off in this nation will mark both teams at diverse phases of improvement. Team England is constantly upgrading, as they have been since a number of years; team India, as it has a tendency to do this pretty frequently, are busy struggling to put their one-day squad back on track.

England being the hosts has been involved in a lot of domestic one-dayers in recent times; however they’re on tenterhooks for an upset. India’s one-day side was in a muddle hardly any months ago – exploding at the World Cup and building a serious weather out of Bangladesh - until now they are mere favorites. Cricket is as bizarre as it can be…

There are a lot of expectations on the return of Andrew Flintoff and Bopara. The captain Paul Collingwood is amazingly confident recognizing Flintoff as a two-in-one player. Hopefully you shall see Freddie batting on number 6 in order to accommodate all his 10 over spell. In all probabilities, something nearer than a score line of 2-5 could be considered improvement for the home side. Of course, England is that team to enter the Super Eights in the World Cup and triumphed over Australia on their own territory prior to that. India couldn’t deal with standing first and haven’t skilled the second in ages as well. Unquestionably - its “advantage” England.

India has its own advantages; however, they have had a devastating World Cup. Their fast-bowling alternatives are restricted and their fielding is getting fairly lethargic. Their batsmen have leaded them in recent times but it’s surreptitious that they’re prone to cave in. They’re way ahead when it comes to analyzing them in terms of experience. India has about three players with more than ten thousand runs; nevertheless they are still to be challenged in this series.

We are about to see one of the best opening pairs consisting of Sachin Tendulkar and Saurav Ganguly back in action today with Rahul Dravid coming down the order at number five. India desperately needs one pair to stay there on the crease and continue to be the torch bearer for the squad. Yuvraj Singh will be India’s answer to Freddie.
