India vs England 5th ODI at Headingley, Leeds
By Cricket ~ August 31st, 2007. Filed under: England, India, ODI, cricket.
The 5th One Day International between India and England is going to be the decisive one when it comes to winning the much talked Natwest Series. It is a difficult challenge placed before India to win all the remaining matches in the series in order to win it. However, the advantage still remains on the English squad.
Very recently, we haven’t seen much off a performance from the Indian side. There are a lot of areas they need to improve on before entering the 20Twenty world cup. India is a country where cricket is almost a religion and with the current form of the team, it only ends up annoying the citizens.
India supposedly has the most experienced and successful batsmen as compared to the English team, nevertheless these players have once again demonstrated an inconsistent performance. When it comes to the bowling side, Indians have always struggled putting up a good bowling attack. Apart from Zaheer Khan, most of the bowlers have miserably failed and proven that they still need to learn some important aspects of bowling.
The breaking news here is that Zaheer Khan has hurt himself, to be precise has a twisted ankle in one of his practice sessions and there are a lot of chances that he will be skipping the match.
England is in a pretty good form, especially after the nerve wracking 4th one day match. They had almost lost it before Bopara and Broad played beautifully. It could be one of their best knocks in international cricket.
England would most probably go with the same set of players, while India may possibly think about Dinesh Karthik’s position for the 5th ODI. At this point of time, Virendra Sehwag and Irfan Pathan could turn out to be a good change.
