India vs Australia 2nd ODI at Kochi - Live Score

By Cricket ~ October 1st, 2007. Filed under: Australia, India, ODI, cricket.

There is a lot of speculation regarding the second one-day international between India and Australia at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in Kochi. Despite the end of a good monsoon season, the rain gods have made it impossible for the ground staff to straighten the outfield for the match today. The pitch was really dumped and what matters the most is the outfield. There are still some minute puddles and along with there are prominent weather forecasts that state the rains coming further down the day.

A sudden shower this morning made the work almost impossible for the ground staff and thereby the evening was very clear but the ground remained soft underneath which led to the cancellation of the practice sessions of the both teams. Everyone knows how unpredictable the weather s and if the rains continue then there are odd chances of the game being played.

Both the teams were looking forward to the result of the last match that was played at Bangalore and this time it is equally frustrating to keep waiting for the rains to clear out and then come down to play. To elaborate more on the Nehru stadium, its one of the kinds to host more than one sport just like the Eden gardens in New Zealand and has the capacity to host more than 80 thousand people. This stadium is a fortunate venue for team India as out of five matches played here, India has won four.

Nathan Bracken, who’s recently turned a father, returns tomorrow, however surprisingly Saurav Ganguly is rested for the day and replaced by Harbhajan Singh. Nevertheless, it would be only optimistic suggestion to wait for the game only if the rains in Kerala could be diverted!!!!

Stay tuned for the latest updates including the live scores and highlights of this match.
