Dhoni’s application for gun licence forwarded

Indian cricket captain Mahendera Singh Dhoni’s application for a gun license has got the approval of Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren and is now pending before the union Home Ministry for a final sanction.
“The state Home department has sent Dhoni s application for Chief Minister stamp of approval on Tuesday. The Chief Minister gave his nod and the application has been forwarded to the union home ministry,” Soren s press adviser Safiq Ansari said today.
The gun belongs to prohibited category.
Denying a section of reports that the Chief Minister would gift Dhoni the prohibited .9mm bore, Ansari said Soren had just given his approval without any additional recommendations.
After Awarding Dhoni with Jharkhand Ratna last year, the state government ran into embarrassing situation last month when the Ranchi district administration had sought a character certificate from Dhoni to attach it with his application.
Later, the rules were softened before the application was forwarded to the state home department.
