Analysis of India vs England 6th ODI
By Cricket ~ September 6th, 2007. Filed under: England, India, ODI, cricket.
The sixth one day international between India and England at the Oval was one of the best matches ever played. It was a close match and all that mattered was to keep the series alive. Almost everyone who saw the match could feel the tension with every passing ball. However, almost everything was perfect as far as the Indian squad is considered. Sachin Tendulkar already set the stage on fire with his magnificent knock of 94 runs and then Robin Uthappa following it with another lifetime performance. And to everyone’s surprise, India finished the target early by two balls. It seems that after a lot of trouble the seven batsmen formula worked!!!
The last several overs were really dramatic and we saw something that was hardly expected. Uthappa was playing his first match in the series and was fairly unfamiliar to the bowling attack of England. Stuart Broad was undoubtedly the best bowler of the day and all he had to do was save ten mere runs for his team to be winning the series and on the other hand there was Robin who is new to the series altogether. Zaheer Khan supported well by just staying there and doing what was necessary
On the whole, India desperately needed this win and lo-behold, India won by 2 wickets and 2 balls.
